Ariane Bird (née Goën) is an engineer specialized in electronics, computer technology, semiconductor design, telecommunications. She worked as a manager in an sme obtaining experience in the requirements and functioning of an industrial company.

She graduated in intellectual property at the University of Strasbourg.

Ariane has three decades’ experience in the IP field, such as in patent searching, patent drafting and prosecution, litigations, freedom-to-operate, landscaping.

She worked for three years as a consultant in the field of patent information based product development, worked for eight years as a patent attorney at Bardehle Pagenberg (München), and founded the patent department of a telecom multinational in Paris. 
Together with William Bird, she founded the successful patent firm Bird Goën & Co in Belgium. Ariane joined IPLodge in September 2015.

Ariane has been teaching courses to prospective patent attorneys (CEIPI) for the last 20 years and has taught opposition courses at the European Patent Office.

Qualifications

Ariane is a qualified European patent attorney and is a French Intellectual Property Engineer. She is also a registered professional representative before OHIM, the European trademark and design office.

Languages

Ariane’s professional working languages are English and German, next to her native languages Dutch and French, and she has a basic level of Chinese which she develops further.
